Artist's Comments

This is a work-in-progress series that I've recently started in December 2007. Invisibility seems an everyday thing. We either see it, or we don't. Or unconsciously, we choose not to. Selective visual filtration? Or just perpetual oblivion. No this series is not about a 'social' statement. It's just about that. Invisibility.

Daily Deviation

Invisible by ~nizanharon Documentary street photography is fascinating. The title is enforced by the fact not one of the people in the frame, even the little girl, is looking at the homeless 'invisible man' (Suggested by `IBinsanity and Featured by `Obsidian-Fox)

this is very powerful, it often happens that we choose to ignore others and thus this is what renders some people invisible. Well done on this shot!

Some people don't dare look for fear they will be next... some peoples skin has grown too thick to feel...
Congratulations on the DD!!!

'this series is not about a 'social' statement'

Surely buy choosing to document the socially invisible you are making a social statement regardless of wanting to or not?
:iconstar-gazer35:
This is a poignant photo, and points a rather large finger at society...how many of us have ignored "just another homeless guy" on the street?

This is amazing. Well done. I'm going to slink away in guilt now...

And God said, "LET THERE BE SPLENDA!" :giggle:
:iconesteffa:
That sure tugged my heartstrings. Personally I think it should be a social statement. If not then this photo would just be part of the invisibility.

Good job regardless!
:iconkohlrimmed:
a brilliant photograph! :+fav:
next time, i'll make sure to drop some change too :)

It's amazing, really, what I notice and what I don't. I feel like I'm constantly overwhelmed, given the volume of things my mind doesn't let penetrate it. Then other people will describe my own experiences to me and it will feel like a story that's being told to me.
